The Everlasting Gospel

The Gospel of grace is never going away. It will never become obsolete. It is forever. Then I saw another angel flying in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, tongue, and people” (Revelation 14:6 NKJV). I’m not going to write here about the context but John calls the Gospel ‘the everlasting gospel’. It’s eternal, perpetual, past, present and future. The Gospel will be here as long as Jesus is. Jesus is the Gospel. Jesus is the good news. As John saw a lamb slain, Jesus remains the lamb forever. That’s why the scriptures can say, “For he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee” (Hebrews 13:5). Never is forever.

The finished work of Jesus on the Cross is forever complete. The Gospel of grace is a done deal lasting into eternity. Your position is in Christ. You are there by grace through faith. You are there because you believed in the everlasting Gospel. That means you have total security in Him and no one can take that away from you. You are a part of the everlasting Gospel that saves those who believe.
