See and Think Differently

I’ve often thought why many believers don’t walk in the fullness of God’s grace and the finished work of Jesus. I admit sometimes I haven’t because I let my mind and thoughts dwell on situations at hand and the problems I faced. I failed to see God’s overall provision. I was in a rut, only seeing the problems that stared back at me. That doesn’t solve anything. In fact, I think it makes things worse. Have you been there? Then religious thinking piles guilt and condemnation on top of whatever else you’re thinking and feeling at the time, and you’ll hear “God helps them who helps themselves”.

But the problem with following that thought leads you to feel you have to DO something to fix things and then believe God will back you up. That only leads you into more self-doing efforts that always come up short, right? How can you counter all of this? By grounding yourself in God’s Word. By declaring what Jesus has provided for you (and it’s more than salvation). By focusing solely on Jesus and renewing your mind with the assurance that God has good things ahead for you.

When you begin to renew your mind thusly, you’ll think differently, see things differently, and things will change.
