The Moses Excuse Syndrome

Everyone is susceptible to them. They can be connected with a particular belief system or even a certain regiment. They affect all of us, and we’re all familiar with them. If left unchanged, they can be impede your spiritual walk. What are ‘they’? EXCUSES. You might think they’re connected more with going on a dieting or exercising, but you can have spiritual excuses as well and they will keep you from experiencing more of the Lord if you keep using them. Yes, you can make excuses to God, but He isn’t going to reject you. He will always love you, and Jesus already took your rejection.

Moses had excuses (see Exodus 4) which he voiced to the Lord. Why did he make excuses? Because he didn’t see himself in His God-given strength and abilities. He saw himself as weak, not knowing who he really was as God’s anointed spokesman. Just as God empowered Moses to overcome his excuses, so you can, too. It’s as easy as believing what the Word says about you and asking the Lord for His grace every time you encounter an obstacle.

See yourself strong in the Lord, His beloved child full of His grace, strength, joy, peace, favor, and blessings. No more excuses.
