Walk Worthy?

We have our position in Christ. We are perfect, holy, redeemed, sanctified, justified, and everything else Jesus is. Ephesians 2:6 says, “And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.” That is our position. Paul explains that in his writing. Paul discusses all these good things in Ephesians, the first three chapters. As Paul often does, he gives us theology or doctrine in the first half of his letter and then tells us what it should look like worked out through our lives. We are under grace not law, so our doing comes not from duty, but from who we are in Christ. We are literally working out our salvation from the inside out. That’s grace.

For example, Paul says things like, “I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that you walk worthy of the vocation wherewith you are called” (Ephesians 4:1). How do we walk worthy? We know we are already worthy in God’s sight through Jesus, but we need to walk as if we were worthy. Make people know that our worth is not in self, but through Jesus finished work on the Cross. Walk out your life as a blood-bought child of God. It’s a work of love and grace.
