Are you a leader? Then use your gift of leading with eager diligence. “6 Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness” (Romans 12:6-8 NKJV).
There are many leadership roles in the Kingdom. Anyone who presides over committees, departments, groups, administration, and overseers, are part of the leadership team. Leaders are to use their gift to guide others to growth and maturity. Parents have a leadership role in their families. Diligence has the idea of eager and earnest care. A leader cares for the people. They are people centered and take care of business. Leaders prepare and study. They look to handle the affairs of the church with dignity and without procrastination. Haste but not hasty is a word that comes up in the definition.
Leaders make decisions for the good of the people. The leader is a gift, and good leaders are a special gift.
