We Love Because Of God’s Love For Us

^“We love, because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19 NASB). Understanding God’s love for us will motivate us to love Him and others. Knowing the immensity of God’s love and His sacrifice for us will be the cause of our effect in the world. Our motive is not duty, service, behavior, or holiness, but love for our savior. God initiated love into the universe and Jesus fulfilled it on the cross so that we could experience and relish it. Our whole Christian character is developed from knowing His love for us. He first loved us.
