“That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, and attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ” (Colossians 2:2 NKJV). There is riches in understanding the mystery of God. What Jesus did on the cross is the mystery of God. Understanding doesn’t mean your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5). It means to understand as God understands. As we study the Word through the Jesus’s glasses of the cross, we put one and one together to comprehend a bigger and clearer picture of our riches in Him. We perceive pieces of a puzzle and we put them together to make a whole picture. We attain divine understanding from God.
