“But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18). How do we change into the image of Jesus? By beholding. The same way we look into a mirror, we look at Jesus. We behold his glory. One of the definitions of glory is what God thinks about things. When we look into the mirror of the Word, it changes us. The word “changed” is our word transformed. We are transformed a step at a time into the image we see in the mirror of the Word. We are participants in the change in us by the Holy Spirit, who guides, instructs, and walks us through the journey we call life. We grow from glory to glory. Transformation results from our beholding.
