Righteousness, Peace, and Joy

There’s an interesting verse in Romans 14:17 that says God’s kingdom is not eating and drinking, but it is righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. God’s kingdom is not dependent on or regulated by outward things. His kingdom is within…within you. Doesn’t that take the spotlight off of your doing in order to be blessed? His kingdom within you and me should be more alive than the world in which we live. His kingdom includes (but is not limited to) righteousness, peace, and joy. Jesus is your righteousness, having made you in right standing before God the Father. He is your holiness because there is no guilt or blame to those who are in Christ Jesus. He is your redemption because He redeemed your from sin. He didn’t just buy you out of sin, but took you, transformed you, and gave you a new heart and life. Start living out of this reality that is within you. You’ve got more righteousness, peace, and joy than you realize because He lives BIG in you.
