Whatever Is Pure

^“Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things” (Philippians 4:8 NKJV). Can you think of anything that is pure in this world? Pure gold maybe. The Bible also translates “pure” as chaste. Therefore, it gives the idea of chastity or a wholehearted dedication to God. In addition, it can mean “moral purity.” It kind of applies to the saying to keep your mind out of the gutter. In other words, to clean up your thoughts. The scriptures talk about a pure heart, a pure conscience, and that the words of the Lord are pure. That takes us back to Jesus. He led a pure uncontaminated, unblemished life. He is the only one who is pure. His wisdom from above is pure. Keep your eyes on Jesus.
