Hid The Word in Your Heart

^“Your word I have hidden in my heart, That I might not sin against You!” (Psalm 119:11 NKJV). When David wrote this Psalm, he was living under the law. Under grace, Jesus removed the penalty of sin before Him so we don’t sin against God. Sin is nevertheless harmful to us. That means grace people are still against sin because it is still has serious consequences. It is against us.

However, that’s not why I’m looking at this verse. The heart is the depository of the Word. Paul says we must renew our minds. We renew through the Word we deposit in our hearts. The word “hidden” means to treasure or store up. We keep the Word in reserve for specific uses. We can use the Word to overcome daily obstacles and to speak when needed. We have to read, memorize, and believe the Word. Then it becomes powerful in our daily walk. So hid the Word in your heart.
