We recently watched the US Open Golf Tournament and saw one players struggling three times to make it totally out of the rough while other players were also landing in sand traps. It reminded me of the golfer who hit into a blind spot and his Caddy told him there was good news and bad news and asked which he wanted first. The Golfer responded “the bad news because then the good news outweighs the bad.” The Caddy gave a sigh and said, “The good news is you missed the water on the left. The bad news is you landed in the sand trap.”
Actually, the best news is that you land neither in the water or the sand trap. In your life journey, you may very well find yourself in a sand trap. Recognize they are easier to get out of than landing in deep water and losing a stroke.
How does that apply to your spiritual walk? Stay on the course, firm in your faith, and know you’ve always got GOOD NEWS in God’s promises. All the promises of God are yes and amen in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20).
