A promise is usually a statement of something that will be given at another time or in the future. “I promise I’ll always remember you” one friend says to another. Many people make promises, and I’m sure some really intend to keep them. Yet, many promises crash and burn and are never carried through.
As a believer you have a sure promise from God that all He has given man through Jesus is yours. Romans 4:13 NASB says “For the promise to Abraham or to his descendants that he would be heir of the world was not through the Law, but through the righteousness of faith” or ‘through the righteousness that comes by faith’.
You might have to change a previous mind set on how you receive God’s promises and provisions. It’s through faith—trusting that God said He’d do what He said—not anything you do. Settle that truth in your heart and believe. Then receiving is easy.
