Exceedingly Glad

^“For You have made him most blessed forever; You have made him exceedingly glad with Your presence” (Psalm 21:6 NKJV). How often do you feel exceedingly glad at knowing the presence of the Lord in you? Exceedingly glad refers to a “spontaneous emotion or extreme happiness, which is expressed in some visible and/or external manner.”

Have you ever watched children who get so excited over something that they just jump up and down ecstatically and run all over the place? David felt this kind of gladness as he wrote about how blessed he was by the presence of the Lord in his life. Most of us adults have lost that kind of excitement. Occasionally we see jubilant worship in church but other than that, we just smile. In their song I Can Only Imagine, MercyMe talks about what we will do when we see Jesus. Will we dance, will we sing hallelujah? I bet we will be exceedingly glad.
