Grace Be Multiplied

^“Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (2 Peter 1:2 NASB). Another translation says, “Grace and peace be yours in abundance through the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord” (NIV2011). This just tells me that we don’t have it all working in our lives yet. Through the finished work of Jesus, we have everything we can have already. Yet, there is a process for us to realize all that Jesus did for us.

When it comes to grace for example, Peter says grace can be multiplied to us. In other words, we can learn more about grace through the knowledge of God and Jesus. This knowledge goes a step farther than head knowledge. It is a special participation in that knowledge. It’s making that real to the point we fully know in our hearts. It’s taking the Word and making it ours.
