Just A Thought – October 20
October 20, 2018Just A Thought – October 21
October 21, 2018If you’ve ever had an aunt, uncle, or grandparent leave you money, you understand about receiving an inheritance. When it comes to our spiritual inheritance, many believers don’t know they have anything reserved for them other than salvation. Paul talks about knowing “what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints,” in Ephesians 1:18, ESV. Do you know what you inherit when you’re a believer?
Paul talks a lot about God’s blessings, the blessing of his inheritance for those in Christ. He lists these in Ephesians 1:3-8 (NLT). Here’s a recap: you have every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places, you are loved and chosen and without fault in His eyes, adopted as children of God, freely given you grace, kindness, and already forgave your sins (salvation), and you’re redeemed through His blood, and He gives wisdom and understanding. That list isn’t chintzy at all.
Everything that God is, Jesus is, and it is your rich inheritance as His child so don’t ever think you didn’t ‘get’ it all. You did, and there’s more as well.
