Revelation At Night

The Psalmist had plenty of time to think about life and meditate on God’s promises, especially as a young shepherd. He only had the law to go by, yet in his life he gained supernatural perception/understanding of who his God was. Many a night he reflected on God’s goodness (Psalm 63:6).

The day had ended, yet he continued receiving God’s counsel for what he needed. He puts it this way in Psalm 16:7, NIV, “I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart (innermost being, mind) instructs me.”

When our mind and heart is quiet we can meditate on His Word, not the words of the world or others who speak only of ungodly ways, but on God’s Word. In the quiet we hear Him speak into our heart. You may receive His words as imagines, as direction, or as ah-ha moments, but He will speak to you.

Do as David did and reflect on God’s goodness tonight, and He’ll reveal even more to you.
