Aligning Your Heart In God’s Love

Realigning your spiritual life and receiving God’s love through Jesus changes your world. Each time you receive God’s Word, plant it in your heart, you’re actively realigning your spiritual life to all that God wants for you, and it begins with His Love.

The Apostle John gives us a look into God’s eternal and unconditional love for us in what he heard and recorded in his gospel in John 15:9. Notice Jesus declares first the unconditional love of the Father and His unconditional love in John 15:9, NLT. “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me.” If there’s any doubt God doesn’t love you, Jesus just provided the proof. BUT the second part of John 15:9 gives us an invitation. An invitation to stay, remain, keep yourself in HIS love. “Remain in my love”.

Because Jesus loves us, we’re to abide in His love. That means stay firmly rooted in His love, recognizing that no matter what transpires in your life, His Love will never fail or stop. You can abide, stay, not be moved away from His love. His love never changes. And let’s not forget John 3:16. God is a giver. He’s a good giver. He gives His best: His Son, Jesus, in human form to identify with us and see the Father’s love through Him. If you want to know what God looks like, look at Jesus.

God’s love is endless, encompassing, and forever. He doesn’t love you one day and then because you slipped up stop His love. He IS love. And His love desires to bless you beyond measure because you’re His child. What great love!

TRUTH: Your spiritual alignment must revolve around God’s Love. Getting your spiritual alignment adjusted means changing your perception of God to a God of love who cares about you. Settle in your mind just how much He loves you. That means believe it. As you do, your thinking will change. You won’t be thinking like you used to. You’ll be thinking from the perspective of a dearly loved child of God that has come into greater spiritual alignment with Jesus.

APPLICATION: Meditate on these verses (which actually means to mumble them over to yourself). That means think about them a lot throughout the day. You need to remind yourself of the truth of these verses, so speak them aloud. Make them personal, i.e., “I have loved you, (put your name), and My Father loves (your name) .”

Tell yourself throughout the day this truth: Jesus Loves Me, and I Am A Beloved Child of God.

Here are some scriptures to plant in your heart and mind so you can repeat them to yourself often. They will further cement the truth of God’s love for you.

John 3:16 NASB – “- “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”

Make It Personal: Because of God’s great love for the world, He sent Jesus, and I am a recipient who believes in Jesus and I know I have eternal life.

John 15:9 NLT – “I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in My Love.”

Make It Personal: Jesus Loves Me just as God loves Him. I am going to stay and live in His love for me.

Galatians 2:20 NASB – “I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.”

Make It Personal: By accepting Jesus and believing on Him, I am not the same person I was but Jesus now lives in me, and I continue living and walking by faith in Jesus because of what He did for me.

Romans 8:38-39 NLT – “38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow–not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

Make It Personal: There is nothing, absolutely nothing that can ever separate me from God’s love that is revealed in Jesus. He loved me before I knew Him. He loves me now that I know Him. He will for all eternity love ME.

ASK YOURSELF:

In what ways are you seeing God’s love blossom in your heart and life?

How are you aligning your heart in God’s love?

Can you say with certainty “I am a child of God, and Jesus loves me”?

How is the truth of Romans 8:38-39 growing in your heart and mind?
