Psalm 119 is the longest Psalm and it’s an acrostic Psalm. The Psalmist uses his devotion to the law to describe his knowledge of God. However, the New Covenant is no longer under law but grace. Therefore, we must look at verses which use the word law, testimonies, precepts, statutes, and commandments with different eyes—the eyes of grace. This is what we are attempting to do in this book. We are pointing out the differences between the Old Covenant and the New Covenant—between law and grace. We are using Psalm 119 to show these differences because this Psalm uses Old Testament law quite often as well as universal principles apart from the law.
Get a new grace perspective of Psalms 119. Keep an open heart and think with a new mindset of grace and the finished work of Jesus on the Cross. The Cross of Jesus was the pivotal point in human history, which changed everything. The Cross of Jesus was the great divide between Old Covenant and New.
