Don’t Stop Asking, Seeking, Or Knocking

Heard a sermon from our Pastor not long ago that struck cords of excitement in my heart. He was zeroing in on Matthew 7:7 ISB: “Keep asking, and it will be given to you. Keep searching, and you will find. Keep knocking, and the door will be opened for you.”

So many times I’m sure you’ve heard this scripture expanded or preached that you’ve got to keep at it or you won’t get what you need. Yes, we’re involved in this equation, but it isn’t totally dependent on if we do something or not. I see it more as an encouragement to continue asking God for His wisdom or whatever you need; to continue searching out His Word for His promises; to continue knocking on the door of His wisdom (which He freely gives), and you’ll receive. It’s wrapped up in the thought of continually asking, search, and knocking.

God is not keeping things from you so you have to bombard Heaven for answers. He freely gives. But when you continue to seek the Lord (He will be found), you’ll find what you need. When you continue to ask and search His Word for His wisdom, His truth, you’ll receive more than you need. And in continuing to do so, you’ll continue to have His door opened to you.

The door is NOT closed because you didn’t do enough. Change that mindset. The door is wide open. Keep your heart wide open to receive all that God has for you through Jesus.

As my husband pointed out, when you keep asking, searching, and knocking, and it will be continually given to you. Why? Because God is a giver. He wants to share His heart with you. He wants you to see what Jesus did for you so you can walk in the righteousness, peace, and joy that He purchased for you.

Determine today you’ll have a heart that continually seeks the Lord and His truth. Don’t be pushed into trying to earn it by your deeds. You’ll receive more than you anticipate when your heart is continually receiving of God’s goodness and love. There’s so much more ahead…keep moving forward in His blessings!
