Just A Thought – February 13, 2020
February 13, 2020
I love how God works in our lives. You never know who the Lord will connect you with when you’re standing in a long line at the post office. I had a wonderful experience a few months back chatting with a sweet lady as we waited our turn. As we talked we both realized we loved the Lord and had a great time sharing about His goodness. My new friend, Holly, shared a profound statement for her prayer for this New Year, and it triggered some thoughts in my mind. She said “I’m praying for 20/20 Vision of His Plans in the New Year.”
I thought about that after I left the post office and saw how profound her statement was. This New Year is 2020! Isn’t appropriate that we anticipate the Lord giving us His 20 / 20 vision for 2020?
His 20/20 vision is for us to see as He sees. That’s allowing His love for people to be what is in our eyesight. It’s not walking in irritation or being mad at the world or others. It’s not walking in hatred. It’s walking in His love toward everyone. I dare say, as we move away from our personal eyesight that can be blurred and marred and gain a deeper understanding of God’s love, we will see everything differently.
I can’t help but think of a news program I watched where a young boy with severe eyesight problems including being colorblind was given special eyeglasses that allowed him to see colors. The look on his face was priceless as he looked around at the new world he saw.
That’s how I envision our new spiritual eyesight for 2020. Anticipate seeing new things the Lord has for you. Anticipate seeing answers to your prayers. Anticipate and expect to see the manifestation of His blessings in your life.
His promise to the exiles through Jeremiah still carries the power of His Word and His Love today. Let’s have His 20/20 Vision for our world.
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”
Jeremiah 29:11 NIV
