I’m sure you’re familiar with the phrase “I can’t imagine…” You’ve probably said it at times yourself especially when hearing of someone’s situation. When people use those words, they’re most often attempting to identify with what someone else has said. Most of the time, if not all of the time, it’s hard to comprehend or imagine what someone else is experiencing because we aren’t in their shoes. I think the phrase can paint a more negative picture even in the wrappings of sympathy.
Yet, I believe we can qualify the phrase as New Covenant believers by adding ‘but I know the God of second chances’, or ‘but I know God is strengthening you today’, etc.
We don’t necessarily need to experience every horrible thing that happens to people to share our love and express our sympathy to them. We are carriers of hope to the world. We are carriers of God’s love. I think that’s why Isaiah 55:8, NLT speaks volumes of encouragement to us as God’s ambassadors to the world. “My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the LORD. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine.”
Did you catch that last phrase? His ways are far beyond anything we can imagine. Why? Obviously because He is God but because we limit our minds and imaginations in seeing God’s abilities and His possibilities available to us.
That’s why we continue to encourage you to find out what IS yours through Jesus. Don’t limit what God can do in your life. Don’t stop imagining that ‘all things are possible’ to a believing heart. Don’t see the impossibilities and stop there.
God’s blessings and goodness are beyond limits. That means there’s no stopping Him blessing you. It also means you’re free to imagine great things with God. His supply is endless. If you think you’ve reached the outer limits of His goodness, He shows you more—just like the expansion of the universe. There’s more ahead.
Can you begin to imagine the blessings, the turnarounds, the flood of His goodness that’s just around the corner for you? Expand your thoughts in His Word and His promises to you. Yes, I do believe YOU can imagine the things He will do for you this year! He wants you to see and believe for more.
