Thinking And Speaking God’s Thoughts

I recently read an article from both doctors and scientists expressing how powerful our minds are. One researcher, Bruce Lipton, Ph.D., said his findings showed our thoughts, no matter if they are conscious or not, can impact our bodies and our DNA. Fascinating, isn’t it?

Haven’t medical doctors said similar things? Many symptoms people complain about can be triggered by what they’ve thought about and even spoken over themselves. Other researchers point out our cells hoard emotions, thoughts, previous experiences, and because of this, unless you tell them to go, they won’t. These folks and others also say that every thought counts; therefore, all the positive thoughts and words absorbed into your cells can result in reprograming your DNA. Wow! That’s enough to get us thinking how we’re talking to ourselves, isn’t it? It isn’t a bunch of new age hooey but learning science aligning with the God’s truth.

The exciting point is science is finally catching up to the truth of God’s Word, specifically of what Paul tells believers to do in Philippians 4:8, NLT. “And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise.”

Paul emphasizes the necessity of fixing our thoughts on God’s Word—meditating on God’s Word. The more we do and believe the Word, the more we reprogram our thinking. We can lift ourselves out of mulley grubs of life and, on purpose, live in peace, joy, and strength allowing the power of the Word to change us from the inside out. Paul further emphasizes the importance of speaking the Word in our lives in Ephesians 5:19 KJV when he says, “Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.” The Word will impact our body and our DNA. It’s not just science saying tell yourself to overcome and use your mind. It’s activating God’s Word in your heart, thus changing your life.

So, let’s put it into practice. Let’s start declaring what God’s Word says about us. Let’s speak the affirmation of God’s for us. Let’s speak His blessings over us, His goodness manifesting in our lives, and His peace covering us and protecting us from the harshness of the world. Let’s think and speak God’s Thoughts!
