The Secret Of The Seed

The secret of the seed is the life within it. Think about that.

I recall listening to a TV program awhile back where scientists discovered seeds from an archeological find actually dating hundreds of years ago. They were certain nothing would come from the seeds, but planted them anyway. Regardless of the type of seeds they were, after awhile LIFE sprang forth. The seeds thought dormant and dead still had life within.

It’s fascinating how God designed seeds with life within, and that life is ready to come forth! It gives us a picture of how the spiritual seeds of God’s Word will bring life within us when we plant them in our hearts. It’s what we’ve been sharing the last few weeks.

But think about what is contained within the little seed. When planted within the ground, it appears the seed dies, yet life comes forth. The initial seed separates as it comes in contact with nourishment and the nourishment—the soil—activates the life of the seed to break through the soil and continue growing and producing.

If you’ve ever planted a garden, you immediately have a picture of the beginnings of your seed pushing through the ground. There it is—a blade, then more, and finally a crop. It’s how Jesus spoke of in terms of the Kingdom of God in Mark 4:26-28, NASB. “26And He was saying, “The kingdom of God is like a man who casts seed upon the soil; 27and he goes to bed at night and gets up by day, and the seed sprouts and grows– how, he himself does not know. 28″The soil produces crops by itself; first the blade, then the head, then the mature grain in the head.”

The secret of the seed is the life within. The same is true in your spiritual life. The life within you is your new life IN Christ. IN this life is all of God’s power, provision, and blessing ready for you to activate and live from.

Learn the secret of the seed and expect a continual harvest of God’s blessings.
