The Lord’s Prayer – Kingdom Living

So many times we see the Lord’s Prayer as only relevant to Jesus’ day. We find it harder to see the operating reality of it in our daily lives in this oft-times crazy world. Yet, when we do see the truth of His words for us today, it’s easier to frame His truth in our hearts and lives. When His truth is framed in our thinking, our believing, and our trusting, we can stand strong no matter what comes at us. The revelation of His Word operating in our lives is powerful.

Let’s look at the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6, zeroing in on verse10, NASB:

10Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in Heaven.

Jesus told us to pray for God’s Kingdom to come, for His will to be done here on earth. Why? Because His will is already operating in Heaven. His Kingdom is already operating in Heaven.

It is God’s will and desire to have His Kingdom, that is His rule and reign, operating in each person’s life. His desire is for man to know His fullness, His blessings. Why? Because He loves people. He desires fellowship with man—with you and me.

The more we know who God is, who Jesus is and what He has done for us, the more we will walking in truly knowing Him. Jesus showed us the Kingdom of God, and says everyone can operate and enjoy Kingdom benefits when we know Him.

His Kingdom come—into our lives. As we focus on the Kingdom of God within us, we see more of His blessings operating in our lives. We’re not focused on our lack, our inabilities, but on God’s goodness to us—focusing on what Jesus finished for us—the fullness of God’s Kingdom. With that focus, we will see and experience His will on earth, in our lives, as He’s already established in Heaven. Heaven on earth as some explain, and it’s available for us, now, today.
Allow this verse to further frame the truth of God’s Kingdom operating in your heart and life, which is His will.
