Major hurricanes in the United States and other countries last year. Floods. Devastating Fires. A world-wide virus that is still affecting our world. We all stood in shock at the images we saw on social media and TV. Our hearts went out to those who lost loved ones as well as what they owned. Our prayers were with them and still are. We must all look ahead to this New Year of 2021 with hope and anticipation of better things ahead.
I’m reminded of Psalm 111:4-5 that says, “the LORD is gracious and merciful. He provides food for those who trust (fear) him; he remembers his covenant forever.” No matter what transpires this year, what changes come in your life, the Lord will always be faithful to provide for you because He loves you. Anchor yourself in His promises and love. Then walk forward each day in faith and confidence.
Keep this verse in mind as you read this short account and look ahead this year with faith.
Her house and all she had was gone. In an instant the terrible storm had destroyed it, but she and her family were safe. She needed temporary shelter for
her family and found something close to a local store. Energetically each morning she would secure food or handouts so her family could eat. To her
amazement one morning food was left for her family! There was more the next morning and the next. They would make it now.
From the window, the kind pet storeowner smiled knowing this mother bird and her babies would be okay.
“Yet not one of them [sparrows] will fall to the ground outside your Father’s care. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid.”
