Cleaning Your Spiritual Glasses and Kaleidoscope

I recall cleaning my elderly Dad’s glasses years back because he’d forget to do it. He would be surprised at how clean they were afterward. All of us can forget to clean our glasses, the windows in your house, or the car windshield from time to time. Eventually we discover we need to clean the glass-type surfaces in order to see better.

That’s what we’re doing now in this new year. We’re cleaning our spiritual glasses, our spiritual kaleidoscope so we can see further revelation and truth of God’s Word. As we do, I’ll guarantee we’ll see things we’ve missed before. As we do, we’ll strengthen our spiritual roots. We’ll discover new truths of God’s love and grace. Yes, it’s time to enjoy all we find in God’s kaleidoscope.

Our key verse is Romans 8:1, ESV – “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.”

Set your kaleidoscope to Romans 8:1 and continue to meditate on this verse. So many times we either put ourselves under condemnation for what we did or didn’t do, or we let others put us under condemnation. Any time we feel less than we should be as believers, we’re buying into the lie that we’ve come up short because God condemns us. That is not the truth. The only thing God condemned was sin and Jesus dealt with that at the Cross. Therefore, God holds no condemnation over us but sees us through the lens of the Cross.

That’s why Paul could boldly state for those who are IN Christ Jesus, they are free from condemnation. God doesn’t condemn you. He loves you, and He wants to bless you.

Continue to keep your kaleidoscope turned to God’s acceptance and love for you, no matter what you face in this world. The more you do, the more you’ll see His goodness and blessings operating in your life.
