Your Kaleidoscope

Do you recall seeing or even using a kaleidoscope? I recall as a youngster how I enjoyed turning the front cylinder while looking into the other end and seeing beautiful and colorful designs. If you didn’t like the design you first saw, all you had to do was turn the cylinder and immediately you saw a new, different design with different colors and shapes.

This new year not only do we look ahead with hope  but we’re also reminded to see ourselves as God sees us—dearly loved, cherished, and blessed. Somehow by the time we get to the middle of a new year, we’ve forgotten some basic truth of our new life in Jesus. We’ve forgotten we’re deeply loved by God. We’ve forgotten the wonderful blessings Jesus gives. We’ve forgotten. The result: we look into our kaleidoscope and only see failure, fear, and condemnation because we failed to turn the cylinder and change the view.

Now is the time to change the view of your kaleidoscope. Change what your eyes see and your mind dwells on. Now is the time to remember who you are. Now is the time to see God’s power at work in your heart and life. Now is the time to release those hindrances to your spiritual growth and replace them with a vibrant revelation of God’s acceptance, forgiveness, and love.

2 Corinthians 3:18 ESV, says: “And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another.”

Let’s hold up a new kaleidoscope of the Word. Let’s open our hearts and minds for spiritual growth. As we do, we’ll see God’s glory actively operating in our lives, transforming us into His image and filled with His power.
