Too often we think God is ‘up there’ and don’t connect to the fact that God lives in us through Jesus. Yes, Jesus Christ lives in you as a believer. We can get so into ourselves that we fail to see the power of God that is available for our every day.
One particular aspect that changes everything is God’s love for us, it’s overwhelming. When we can grasp that His love is all encompassing, never judgmental, but truly caring, uplifting, and transforming, our lives will change.
The more we move into His love as we learn all that Jesus accomplished for us, the more we are filled with His love (His love is God’s love). Jesus has loved and continues to love us. His love has no borders, and it just never stops even if/when we mess up.
In John 15:9-10 ESV, Jesus told the disciples this amazing truth. One aspect is His part. The other is ours – what we are to do. “As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide [remain] in my love”.
So, how do we incorporate His amazing love in our lives? You’ve taken the first step when you receive Jesus, accepting God’s gift of eternal life. The second step is for you to remain in His love, to stay grounded and anchored through continually renewing your mind in the Word.
Just as you can’t expect a new plant to grow on its own without water, we can’t grow in God’s love if we don’t renew our mind through His Word. The more we do, the more His love will grow and expand our revelation and understanding to the greatness of our God.
The call today is to continue to grow in His love for you. Get in the Word. See what Jesus did for you. Let His love grow in you.
