Needing A ‘Do-Over’?

Does it seem that at times you need a DO OVER button to restart your day or week—or year? I’m sure all of us have felt that way over the last 2 years.

You probably recall as a youth when playing games with your friends, you’ve asked for a ‘do-over’. I remember always saying ‘wait, wait’ when I didn’t get a good hit over the volleyball net…same difference as wanting a do over, right?

I believe the older you become you want a ‘do over’ from those ridiculous decisions you made when young, or a decision that was based more on emotions rather than thinking it through. I’m sure you can identity, because you probably wanted a few ‘do-over’ times.

The GOOD news for believers is we get another ‘do-over’ every day. Lamentations 3:22-23, EVS tells us: “The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; ²³ they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”

Thank goodness we have God’s new mercies every day of our lives because His love for us never ceases, never stops, nor does it run out!

The best way to push on through needing a ‘do-over’ is to seek God’s wisdom for future decisions, follow the promises of His Word, and always walk in His love.
