Reshaped and Remade Devotion

So many of us, at one time or another, struggle with self-image. I dare say the outside voices can be louder than our inside voice. When we allow the outside voices to dictate what we think about ourselves, how to fix ourselves, all apart from God’s power available in us, we’re in for disappointment, disillusionment, and despair striving more for the outside influences to change us. It won’t work. It never does. It may but only for a short time, then we’re back to square one.

It’s only when we allow God’s power and His Word to reshape us from the inside out that we find joy, peace, and fulfillment. That’s when our self-image changes to His image in us.

It’s time to let Him reshape us. It’s time to let our self-image, even our self-hatred be replaced. God loves us just as we are, now, today. He has better things ahead for us, and He wants us to see ourselves as He sees us – dearly loved.

Jeremiah 18:4 NIV says, “But the pot he was shaping from the clay was marred in his hands; so the potter formed it into another pot, shaping it as seemed best to him.”

We may have a pot that’s marred from mistakes and missteps, but He gently holds us, and through the power of His Word, through His love, creates something even more beautiful. His work in us far surpasses what we can do to change ourselves. He works from the inside out, and so should we.

Let’s not let outside voices dictate our worth. God says you’re worth His life. You’re worthy of His love. So much so that He lives in you, and loves you.

As you approach a new year, be prepared and ready to be reshaped and remade from the inside out. Exciting things are ahead. Get ready.
