The New Year has started, and it can hold many adventures as well as challenges for each of us. How will we approach 2023? Hopefully not like the character in the following scene.
The auditorium filled quickly as folks took their seats. The lights lowered as guests anticipated the great event. Slowly from stage left an overhead spotlight defined what appeared to be a bedraggled character making his entrance. His head and shoulders bent low, he moved cautiously and obviously dragging something at his side. Quite abruptly he stopped, sighed deeply, and peered out to the audience. Shaking his head his deep voice echoed the message of his sign. “We’re DOOMED!” he declared, holding the sign up. “We’re DOOMED!” The audience was taken back at his statement. What was ahead? What would they experience? Many in the audience were left with trepidation. His message created heart palpitations and anxiety for some, yet others questioning the future. The negative, doomed message given didn’t leave people with warm fuzzy feelings or encouragement at all. What was yet ahead? They weren’t sure. What could they do?
We’ve all heard the negative input from the world about our world, and yes, in many areas, things are not right. But believer, no matter lies ahead, you’re not without hope. You’re not without encouragement, strength, peace, and God’s grace to rise above anything you encounter.
Let 2 Corinthians 2:14, NASB 1995 you with these words, “But thanks be to God, who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and manifests through us the sweet aroma of the knowledge of Him in every place.”
No matter what lies ahead, you can be confident Jesus is leading you to be triumphant in everything you do, and while you’re ‘doing’, you’ll be the sweet fragrance of God’s great love and grace to those around you.
Let your confession agree with this verse because He always leads you in triumph. You’re victorious and an overcomer because of Jesus, no matter what lies ahead.
