A Door Of Hope

God provided so many illustrations and truths to His people in the Old Testament, and they minister to us today especially a verse in Hosea that you don’t hear much about. “I will return her vineyards to her and transform the Valley of Trouble into a gateway of hope.” Hosea 2:15, NLT

It was because of one man’s greed and disobedience, the Valley of Achor (or valley of trouble) became known. It reminded Israel of their failure, a defeat, a setback. But God didn’t want them to dwell on the failure. He didn’t want them locked into that valley with no way out. That’s why He spoke through the prophet Hosea. He was giving Israel HOPE in the midst of a mess because He would change that place from a site of trouble to a place of triumph.

Just as we saw with King David’s times of discouragement, of setback, he knew he wasn’t to remain there…in the valley of trouble, the valley of discouragement, the valley of no hope. God always provided a way for His people to move forward into the fulfillment of His promises. How much better is it today that His promises are ‘yes and amen’ in Jesus? That’s your guarantee. Therein is your hope.

I like how Joseph Prince puts it, “even if you find yourself in the Valley of Trouble, know you will not remain there for long. You will walk through it (Psalm 23:4) because God is opening a door of hope in your life today for you to step out of the darkness, the discouragement, the defeat, and into His marvelous light. Things are going to get better.”

I ‘amen’ his words. Breakthroughs you’ve been waiting for are on their way. Just step through the door of hope (Jesus) and out of your valley of trouble.

Believe in His great love for you and allow Him to lead you ahead this new year. In His loving presence, you’ll find forgiveness, healing, and restoration, transforming you from the inside out. Step through your door of Hope today.
