Let HOPE Arise

We’ve all heard reports through the media of devastating things going on in our country as well as other countries, from too much rain, to flooding, to roads and houses literally being washed away, not to mention chemicals spilling from tanker trucks close to houses. Then we not only hear but see on TV the horrible destruction from earthquakes, not to mention unrest in the world and other wars. In the natural we can feel overwhelmed, fearful. If we only dwell on the bad things, the negative things we hear or read, we can easily be depleted of any hope.

Yet, even in these terrible situations, we’re not without hope.

In Isaiah 43:1-2 (ESV) you’ll find these words of comfort and hope. The Lord spoke to His people, and He speaks to you today: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire, you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.”

So how can let hope arise? How do you change the atmosphere of your heart and mind? How do you overcome the negative?

You’ve heard it before, but you’ll have lasting results when you change your thinking to God’s thoughts, His promises in the Word. We just read God’s thoughts in Isaiah. He didn’t give doom and gloom thoughts or words. He gave words of HOPE.

When we’re in the midst of things turning our personal world upside down, is when we need to dig into the Word for strength and hope. Let the Word change your mental pictures and you’ll be less negative. Get a new picture of God’s overwhelming love for you. He hasn’t abandoned you. He never will because you’re His child.

Let His words of love and hope infuse greater faith and trust in Him. No matter what the world says or does, no matter what goes on around you, there is Hope because He is faithful. Stir yourself up in the Word and LET HOPE ARISE!
