HOPE is such a commodity that is needed in our world, in our society, in our lives today. The world is grasping at straws trying to control and make better their condition no matter what country pushes back. Society is attempting to provide hope to people, yet it seems their plans and programs are, in essence, only band aids. Even in our own lives we may reach for a band aid sooner than reaching for a life-sustaining provision.
The more we as believers rely on the world and its persuasion and thoughts, the sooner our thinking moves away from the truth of God’s Word. The Word doesn’t change, nor the power of it for us; but we can find ourselves relying on the world’s wisdom and ways and not the power of God’s truth.
How do we make the Lord our hope and confidence each day? We need to readjust our thinking, our heart, to allow the Word of God to permeate our lives. Jeremiah17:7, NLT, states “But blessed are those who trust in the LORD and have made the LORD their hope and confidence.
Where is your hope and confidence today? Is it in yourself and what you can accomplish? Is it in the world’s system and way, or are you relying on God’s wisdom and provision from the power of His Word through Jesus?
Because of the New Covenant of Love and Grace through Christ’s provision in His death, burial, resurrection, you now have everything God promised and provided because it was fulfilled through Jesus.
You are indeed blessed when you trust the Lord, making Him where you put your hope and confidence…your hope of better days, of His provisions for you, of needed healing, restoration of relationships, deliverance from the demons of guilt and negative self-talk. Jesus already took those for you, and provides the sealed new covenant that promises you HOPE—right now, today, tomorrow, and beyond.
Don’t reach for the world’s provision to find false hope—reach out for God’s best for you—His covenant-promise, to bring you into His goodness and love.
