As we’ve mentioned, Faith and Hope go hand-in-hand. Sometimes it can be difficult to know how to connect them. We’ve given you aids in our weekly studies, but here’s another example. Read the following scripture with your heart and mind open and gain a new revelation. I’m sure you can relate to Daniel who sought God for his answer and help in time of need.
As I was praying, Gabriel, whom I had seen in the earlier vision, came swiftly to me at the time of the evening sacrifice. He explained to me, “Daniel, I have come here to give you insight and understanding. The moment you began praying, a command was given. And now I am here to tell you what it was, for you are very precious to God.” Daniel 9:21–23, NLT
There is so much hope in these scriptures. Note Gabriel told Daniel God gave a command the moment he began praying. Now Gabriel came to give Daniel insight and understanding. That’s HOPE. That is confirmation of just how precious people are to God. You are precious to God. He is interested in you, your life, your needs; and He will answer.
With that background, look at Psalm 103:20 that tells us angels heed the voice of His Word. What does that mean? Angels do what God’s Word says. Let’s speak the Word. Angels are instructed to fulfill what we say when we base it on the Word because God’s Word is powerful and full of life. Therefore, each time we quote scriptures out loud in faith, we are giving voice to His Word and angels respond. Let’s speak the Word because angels cannot read minds.
Connect hope with God’s Word in faith and speak it forth. Make your confession of the Word personal to you and you’ll have a deeper working understanding of how hope and faith work. “The Word is nigh thee, in thy mouth—the word of faith which we preach” (Romans 10:8). Let’s declare God’s Word, His promises in our lives!
