I’m sure there may be many bouquets of flowers displayed on tables for loving Moms this month. Flowers are a lovely Mother’s Day gift, and they represent love, life, and hope.
If you’ve ever looked closely at flowers, you see the veining on each petal. The veining is the life source coming from the stem giving added character and distinction to each flower petal. Some flowers as well as leaves have unique vein patterns. Even vines for grapes or melons or other vegetables display the veins connecting the plant to the source. We know without the soil and water, the flowering plants won’t grow and produce flowers, and the trees won’t produce fruit.
King David speaks to this in Psalm 1. He shares a picture of blessed people (that’s you and me). Psalm 1:3, NLT says “They (you) are like trees planted along the riverbank, bearing fruit each season. Their leaves never wither, and they prosper in all they do.”
Notice those who walk in the blessings of God through Jesus will be prosperous and flourishing, displaying the fruit of God’s love, life, and hope to others. Even in tough times, they won’t wither or give up but will continue to grow strong in hope and endurance.
Let the intricate beauty of the flowers around you remind you of hope that is ahead and of God’s love and faithfulness in your life.
