Overcoming In The Power Of Hope

We recently visited areas in our country where historic forts kept enemies away, people safe inside, and provided security and comfort against those who wanted to attack. The strongholds the enemies’ thought were impenetrable proved otherwise. There was safety and security within the fort.

We have the same safety, security, provision within the fort of God’s love and provisions for us. Psalm 9:9 ESV reminds us clearly, “the LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.” It doesn’t sound like there isn’t any hope, does it? NO!

John shares the fulfillment of King David’s declaration in 1 John 4:4 ESV when he says, “Little children, you are from God and have overcome them, for he who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.” Does not his statement ring true with HOPE? Yes, it does!

The more we stay in God’s stronghold of love, His Hope and His power, the more we overcome the obstacles we face, defeat the thoughts of worry or fear, and stand strong in our position as God’s child because the Greater One lives in us. (READ that again)

You can’t do the overcoming life on your own. When you rely on the Lord and let Him live big in you, you’ll walk in victory and hope that doesn’t disappoint or wane. His provisions are yours so live from that truth. Greater is He who is in YOU than he who is in the world. You’re filled with Hope and are an Overcomer!
