Just A Thought
September 29, 2023There are times when we may be LOW on hope. It can happen so don’t beat yourself up. What you can and should do when you’re at this point is to remind yourself where your hope is…in the Lord. Then you can continue to remind yourself of what He has done for you.
What happens to us at times? We’re going along in life and all of a sudden (it seems) we have difficulties and start worrying about things. We all understand that. But when we continue to make a habit of drawing our attention solely on the problem and not the solution, then we have a bigger problem. It seems the problem before us grows. That’s because our attention is in the wrong place.
We’re focusing on the difficulty, the problem, the obstacle, the fear of what’s going on, on what’s ahead, etc. Staying in those type of thoughts will only lead us into depression and further anxiety. Stop the cycle. Your HOPE meter is on low. So how do you feed it and build your confidence?Through reminding yourself of God’s goodness and His love. For the amount of time we concentrate on the negatives in our life, we could have already been delivered and walking in a greater reality of hope by changing our thoughts.
Here’s some other practical help. Make a list of God’s promises that lift you up, that give you a picture of good things ahead. They may be life scriptures, or a particular verse that jumps off the page as you read the Word. Write those down. Take them with you. Read them with your eyes. Also SPEAK them to yourself. Faith comes by hearing (Romans 10:17, NKJV), and the more you hear the Word of Hope, the quicker your Hope Meter will increase. God always leads you from faith to faith – that’s the reality of His Hope within you. Hope=Confident Expectation Of Good.
