Just A ThoughtDecember 8, 2023
Since January of this year, we’ve shared encouragement on building God’s HOPE in our lives. That was the theme the Lord impressed u with for 2023. And, just from what we’ve all experienced so far this year, I understand more of why the Lord said to build His hope in our hearts/lives and rely on His Hope. I trust you’ve allowed Hope to grow deeper in your spirit, your thoughts, and life.
Recently I heard something that brought a clearer picture of growing our hope in our lives. I’m sure you’re familiar with the scripture that talks about the types of soil and the result of planting good seed in good soil. You’ll find the reference in Matthew 13. As I reread the scriptures, I recognized there must first of all be fertile soil in order for a plant to grow and thrive. Our hearts must be fertile for God’s Word to grow and thrive in us. We know by example of planting flowers in our gardens at home that unless we have good soil for the seed to take root, it’ll be hard for a plant to develop or thrive.
The same is true for our spiritual lives. Our heart must be good ground. HOW does that happen? Through the Word and Faith. The more we feed on God’s Word and His promises (His finished work), the more we encourage our hearts to believe (faith in action). And the more we believe His Word, the more we activate His Word in our lives.
We cultivate good, fertile soil for HOPE by continuing to plant His Word in our hearts, our lives, and our ears. We speak out the Word. We speak HOPE into our circumstances and lives. We speak out God’s faithfulness o us, and His goodness and love.
Let’s allow God’s Word of HOPE to not only thrive in our heart and lives but be the word we share with others to encourage, strengthen, and minister to them.
