The Promise of Hope

The promise of HOPE for the world was given many years ago by angels. They said a savior would come to bring people back to God’s love. It was a message not only of love but of hope.

Luke 2:8-11 ESV gives the introduction of this earth-shattering news by angels. “8 And in the same region there were shepherds out in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.  And an angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were filled with great fear. 10 And the angels said to them “Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord.”

The announcement was of a savior, the promise One the Messiah. The One sent from God the Father to deliver His people, Israel. It was a promise of Hope for the Jews. It was consternation for the Romans. Others weren’t sure. Yet, one thing remained: there were those who would go and see about this thing told them. The shepherd heart the message and went to see if it was true. Wise Men also had heard a savior was born and went as well bringing gift with them. Hope was born again throughout the known world at that time.

Fast forward to our time today. Hope is once again declared and spoken by us to the world. There IS hope to anyone, for everyone. God’s love for man has opened the door. All that is needed is to walk through the door. Let’s not only celebrate God’s gift of Jesus and all He purchased for us, but lt’s also share with others the hope and life we have.

The promise of Hope for the world is still alive.
