God’s Abundant Provision

We had a recent event that really bugged me when I realized what had transpired. I was bummed, frustrated, upset. I knew I didn’t have to be, but for a few minutes I hung on to those emotional feelings. Finally, I realized I could count on the Lord’s help because things were clearly out of my hands at that point.

I need to tell you what happened. We had visited a location, and thought we had all of our belongings gathered up and settled in our car. We left early in the morning, and it wasn’t until evening after we were home, when we realized we must have left our heavy-duty winter coats and a lighter jacket! Urgh! A 6-hour trip one way just to retrieve them was not doable, especially during a Holiday week!

We made the necessary calls, filled out the necessary paperwork, and worked with a wonderful caring woman to hopefully secure our belongings. It took several days when we were told they only had 2 of the 3 items and didn’t know where the other one was. (Of course, the third item was mine!)

Long story shorter…At that point I began to declare the favor of the Lord and the return of our belongings. I was confident we’d get them back. Another day brought God’s provision, and even though they couldn’t find my coat, rather than have me wait 2-3 months to be reimbursed for the coat and then have to purchase another one, the woman said she’d order me a new one and send it to me, FREE! My new coat was on its way and our other items were being sent to us as well.

Bottom line: Realize even when events/situations look bad, when you’re bummed out, when you can’t replace what you lost, keep your faith and focus on the Lord and trust Him to bring an excellent result. He’s our Daddy God who cares for us affectionately and watchfully as 1 Peter 5;7, Amplified says, “casting all your cares [all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares about you [with deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully].”

He’s Daddy God who cares for you affectionately and watchfully.
