The Word Full Of Grace and Truth

And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us,

and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father,

 full of grace and truth.

(John 1:14 NASB)

John saw in Jesus one who was full of grace and truth. Grace is a central theme in Christianity, representing God’s unconditional love, mercy, and favor extended to humanity. Jesus embodied this grace in his teachings, actions, and interactions with people from all walks of life.

Full of grace, complete, abounding, because as Jesus was the truth, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life,” Jesus is also grace. Grace and truth entered when Jesus entered. Through the finished work of Jesus, we no longer are under the law, but under grace. We no longer must live by the law, but we live by grace.

Grace is the power to do what we need to do even when it’s beyond our vision or abilities. Grace empowers us. Jesus empowers us. Jesus brought us a new covenant, the covenant of grace. His grace is sufficient. We don’t need the law to encumber us, but grace to free us.

It is no longer what we must do but what He did. We believe, we trust, we rest in faith. We hold on to the truth of the Word. The Word became flesh, the Word is grace and truth. Grace and truth will take us through the most trying of times. We trust the Word as we see Jesus, walking in grace and truth, we can walk in grace and truth.

To live by His grace and truth, we seek to emulate his example in our relationships, our actions, and our witness to the world. We are transformed into His glory as we keep our eyes on Grace and Truth.

Let’s allow His grace to permeate our hearts and lives and walk in His ability in us.
