Creator Jesus Pt. 4

For I the Lord will speak, and whatever word I speak will be performed. It will no longer be delayed, for in your days, O rebellious house, I will speak the word and perform it,” declares the Lord God. (Ezekiel 12:25 NASB) The Word of God became flesh and walked among us.

Since God spoke the world into existence and upholds it by His word, no wonder Jesus said to speak to this world. Truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and cast into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says is going to happen, it will be granted him (Mark 11:23 NASB).

Notice Jesus tells them to “whoever says” to the mountain. Then believe what you say. What we say has radical effects on the earth. If we say God’s words with the authority of Jesus, then we can change things in the world.

Death and life are in the power of the tongue, And those who love it will eat its fruit (Proverbs 18:21 NASB).

We are then to say to whatever mountain facing us “be taken up and cast into the sea.”

And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed. (Mark 16:20 NASB).

Then Jesus confirmed the word the disciples spoke with signs and wonders. Jesus worked with them as they spoke the word. The word has power to change things. One word can make a difference, a big difference.

Jesus summoned His twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal every kind of disease and every kind of sickness. (Matthew 10:1 NASB). These disciples weren’t even born again and yet Jesus gave them power and authority to do signs and wonders. How much more, us who have the Holy Spirit and Jesus in us, have His authority and power to accomplish great things, even greater than Jesus did (John 14:12).

There is power in the Word spoken in faith. Our words spoken into a world where words hold it together, have the power to alter things, to cast mountains into the sea. Peek back next week for part 5.
