June 15, 2026There’s a lot to be said for walking. It takes us from one place to another. It’s good exercise. It allows us to see more than what’s just around us. It can get us out of the house and enjoy God’s creation around us.
We understand from physicians that walking is very good for our health. It is something we should be doing every day, along with walking we all do at home and at our jobs. Hopefully we can enjoy walking outside not only for exercise but to enjoy the world God has created.
How does walking apply to our spiritual lives?
We live in this physical world, but as believers we are also part of a spiritual world. Our walk as a believer should be different than others around us who don’t know/follow the Lord or Biblical principles and truths.
Our walk should be grounded in the Word of God, His truths. Then when we apply the Word in our lives and walk accordingly, we’ll be walking even as He walked as 1 John 2:6 (Amplified) says. “Whoever says he lives in Christ [that is, whoever says he has accepted Him as God and Savior] ought to walk and conduct himself just as He walked and conducted Himself.”
Our walk should be reflective of what Jesus taught and showed us in the Word, what He purchased for us, and it should bring us into not only greater fellowship with Him, but to a greater certainty of our faith. Therefore, we don’t walk by sight only, but we walk by faith, trusting the Lord’s guidance and direction for us. Let’s keep walking in His goodness, love, and grace and peace.
