Don’t Stop Walking

July 1, 2026Do you remember the animated movie that had a fish character named Dory? One of her favorite expressions was “Keep Swimming”. I think the premise to her statement is good, and for us it applies in our daily spiritual lives as we WALK out our faith.
Our walk of faith should be guided by the Word and what and how the Apostle Paul tells us to walk as believers. Let’s face it, a lot of times in our lives we’ll borrow Dory’s declaration and tell ourselves Keep Walking. We all haven’t reached the end, and yes, there are obstacles along the pathway. But no matter how many snaggly wagglies or snarly warleys there are, there are plenty of smooth, peaceful surfaces as we walk.
It’s one thing to encounter a barrier, an obstacle, a difficulty, a disappointment that tries to derail you off the trail. Don’t fall for it. Keep walking forward because the Lord is leading you. (Remember, He is the Good Shepherd who leads his flock/his children by peaceful streams and cares and protects them/us). Don’t let temporary obstacles hinder your walk. Move on past them, trusting the Lord to highlight the way. You’ll hear him say: “This is the way, walk ye in it”.
The more you walk the walk of faith, the more your life becomes shaped by the truth of god’s Word. And when your heart is persuaded to trust His Word as your truth, you’ll find a deeper freedom in following the Lord. So, no matter what, Keep Walking.
