Ephesians 2:6

And raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

God lifts us up with Christ and seats us with Him in the heavenly realm. In Christ, we sit far above every principality, power, might, and dominion. God grants a place of honor and closeness to all who live in Christ. Grace saves us and establishes our position. When we truly grasp this truth and choose to live from this place of safety, provision, and wisdom, we begin to see possibilities we once considered impossible.

Relating to our “seating in the heavenlies” means learning to live daily from the spiritual position God has already given us in Jesus Christ. Scripture presents this reality not as poetry or metaphor only, but as a truth meant to shape how we think, decide, pray, and respond to life. Here are practical ways believers connect with that truth:

  1. See yourself from God’s perspective

Instead of defining yourself by past failures, fears, or circumstances, you begin to view your identity as God describes it. Being seated with Christ means you hold a position of acceptance, authority, and belonging before God right now.

  1. Pray from victory, not for victory

Seated people do not strive for position; they already possess it. Prayer shifts from begging God for approval or access to confidently approaching Him as His child who already stands near.

  1. Think with a heavenly mindset

Relating to this truth means asking, How does God see this situation? A heavenly perspective brings peace in chaos, wisdom in decisions, and hope when circumstances look impossible.

  1. Walk in spiritual authority

Seating with Christ points to shared authority under Him. Believers can resist sin, reject lies, and stand firm in truth because their position rests in Christ’s victory, not their own strength.

  1. Rest instead of striving

Seated posture implies rest. Spiritually, it means trusting what Christ accomplished rather than trying to earn what God already gave. Faith grows when the heart learns to rest in His finished work.

In simple terms: Relating to your heavenly seating means living on earth from your heavenly identity. It changes how you see yourself, how you face problems, and how you trust God.
