July 15
July 15, 2026We’ve been talking about the connection there is between our ears and our hearts. It’s important we understand what transpires so we can hear God’s truth and renew our hearts in it.
There is so much noise in our world today. People are spouting their opinions across social media, on television, radio, and other devices. You probably even hear it at times within the confines of a grocery store. Everyone’s got their opinions and want you to hear them and hopefully follow their thoughts.
There are a lot of people vying for your attention. Please be cautious about what you hear. With all the nuances of AI and other medias, there can be times you’re not sure if what is being shared is totally true. Don’t just take what someone says as truth, especially if it’s something you sense is incorrect. Search it out. Find out more about what is said. And, if it isn’t true, ignore it. This is why it’s important to pay attention to everything we hear each day.
The more you hear what the world says, the more its opinion could sway your thoughts. And, once a thought enters, unless you replace it with something better, it will take root. That’s when it enters your heart, and then it can be something you begin to believe, and it becomes part of you. Your heart is a reservoir so be careful what you let stay there. In fact, Jesus said in Luke 6:45 that ”out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.’ Because your heart is a reservoir, it will eventually confirm what is in it through our speech.
That’s why we encourage you to renew your (ears) hearing and your mind in the truth of God’s Word. By doing so, you won’t be so easily led astray or down a road that can leave you defeated because it doesn’t provide life, only bitterness and finger-pointing.
