Ephesians 3:6

To be specific, that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel,

Paul makes the mystery clear. Gentiles stand as fellow heirs, fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise in Christ Jesus through the gospel. Under the Old Covenant, God formed the nation of Israel as His chosen people and centered His covenant presence among them. The temple structure reflected separation and restricted access.

Through the finished work of Jesus Christ, God opened the promise to all. The gospel announces that everyone who believes shares the same inheritance, the same Spirit, and the same position in Christ. No second tier exists in this family. No outsider status remains. Jews and Gentiles together form one body and stand as co heirs of the promises of God. In Christ, we belong fully and equally to the household of faith.

“Fellow heirs” means every believer shares fully and equally in all that God promised and accomplished in Christ. This inheritance includes righteousness before God, adoption into His family, access to His presence, the indwelling Spirit, eternal life, and participation in His kingdom. It also includes the covenant blessings first promised to Abraham and fulfilled in Jesus Christ. No believer receives a smaller portion, and no group holds a superior claim. God grants the same spiritual inheritance to all who belong to Christ, which means we share one status, one hope, one promise, and one future glory together.
