We’re continuing to look at Ephesians 1:15-20, and today specifically at verse 17. Paul has shared with believers and said he prays for them. Why? Because they’re brethren, and he wants them to know how much Jesus loves them and has done for them.

Verse 17 puts it this way: “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him.”

Paul wants all believers—that you and me—to have the spirit of wisdom as well as revelation in the knowledge of WHO Jesus is. 1 Corinthians 1:30 reminds us that Christ is God’s true wisdom which replaces human foolishness and pride. Proverbs (4:7) speaks of wisdom as the principle thing to get, and with it get understanding. Wisdom to know what to do and understanding of how to use the wisdom.

It is God the Father who gives us the spirit of wisdom…wisdom beyond human wisdom and understanding. It could be the ‘light-bulb moment’ when you see what to do next.

Our Heavenly Father wants us to get revelation in the knowledge of Him…who? Jesus. Why? Because that revelation will give us a deeper understanding of all that Jesus has done for us. You don’t know what you don’t know. It’s time for us to KNOW what Jesus did for us.

How do you get or receive this wisdom, this revelation? By digging into the Word. Reading what Paul shares about Jesus, learning more about Him, and how much He loves you. I believe as you do, even if you’ve been a believer for many years, you’ll receive a greater revelation of Him in your life.

He’s ready to give you a deeper revelation of Him. Get ready to receive it in your heart.
